I'm very worried about you, look after yourself, remember what your mother told you: Don't let anyone come near you. I permit you to open fire, even if this isn't written in the rules of engagement. If you open fire, in the worst case you'll go to jail but you'll still be alive. Do me a favor, don't believe anyone, you're so innocent. Learn from your mother to look after yourself and your comrades." But by then he was dead.

Many soldiers and civilians took Mrs. Kikis' advice (see above) and remained alive, but are paying a heavy price for this, in court and in jail.

The Honenu organization provides aid for the "indirect victims" of continued Arab terrorism - those who have been forced to respond in real-time to genuine threats on their own or on others' lives, and as a result, have become entangled in a web of legal difficulties with tremendous financial and other costs..
